Fibromyalgia Treatments

Fibromyalgia can be quite a tricky condition for many individuals as the fibromyalgia treatment options can often vary greatly from patient to patient. Much is still being learned about fibromyalgia treatments, but there are many very effective treatments now available to help treat FMS cases ranging from very mild to quite severe. We provide many of the latest and most effective here.
First, there are two types of fibromyalgia. Primary and secondary fibromyalgia.
The main difference is, in essence, based upon the cause of the FMS symptoms.
For primary FMS sufferers, much if it is related to other conditions such as that of more sleep-related disorders or chemical/hormonal imbalances which may be causing the fibromyalgia symptoms to act up.
As for secondary, the less common, more traumatic events such as a car accident may have triggered the fibromyalgia symptoms to occur in the FMS patient.
In either case, most fibromyalgia patients need fibromyalgia treatments…fast. As FMS is not a condition one can really just “live with”. Something usually must be done about it before it can affect their overall well being mentally and physically.
For many, a lifestyle change may be all they need. More exercise, better diet, more vitamins or supplements in addition to more relaxation and stress/anger management can all help them calm their bodies down and get more restful sleep at night.
Others are much more affected by the FMS symptoms and require prescription drugs and/or physical therapy such as trigger point injections to help alleviate certain areas possibly causing the pain.
More and more fibromyalgia treatments are coming onto the market, but the few that are already approved (or may be approved) by the FDA have proven effective for many fibromyalgia patients.
Some of these fibromyalgia treatment products include pregabalin (Lyrica) which is also used for those suffering from epilepsy in prevention on certain types of seizures, norepinephrine boosters such as milnacipran (Savella), and seratonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors, or SNRI’s, such as Cymbalta which make seratonin and norepinephrine more available to fibromyalgia patients as many FMS patients lack these neurotransmitter chemicals in the body.
In addition to prescription drugs or a diet and lifestyle change, many of those affected by fibromyalgia have found effective fibromyalgia treatments in alternative or complementary therapies. Complementary simply means in addition to more traditional treatments such as that of Lyrica or Cymbalta.
Acupuncture, massage, biofeedback, chiropractors and other different types of alternative therapies have proven quite effective indeed for many of those who have tried them. Maybe these results are simply based on the overall theory of relaxation as a direct result of these types of therapies? Or maybe it is something else?
In many cases it could definitely be worth speaking to one’s doctor or medical professional about in addition to which vitamins and supplements one should take for their own unique fibromyalgia treatment.
Many fibromyalgia treatments are available and it is important to find the best treatment option that fits the individual’s own needs in order to help maximize the alleviation of the overall fibromyalgia symptoms.
